Sunday Westerly

Scored almost 2 hrs this morning in W 20-25 on 8m+surfboard from Spanish Banks to Acadia with Mike (7m+surfboard), Bill (7m+foil) and C36 (windsurfing).

Waves got more disorganized further out towards the freighters. My favorite waves (waist high breaking) were around Dog Beach.

I was out there winging. Some really nice waves, some of there best I've seen in a while, especially near Dog. Beach. Rally disorganized at the edge of the bank but big swell outside between the tankers.

I was the only winger out at Dog Beach. Actually I was the only person on the water for the first little while. Felt weird not having anyone else out at Acadia. I sailed out far between the two big tankers and sailed out there for a while. When I came back I saw Mike and Dave out on the water and I assume you were there too. Were you on the blue North kite?

Smoothies. Almost dawn patrol. Wind / swell checks at Lacarno, kite beach, dog beach, and Acadia. Acadia had the best wind / swell, but tide was a little too high there so joined Tsawwassen at dog beach. Sun and wind and some of smoothest shoulder-to-head-high swell I can remember! Top five for sure! Just enough wind to make the medium gear work (92/4.5). Took a break and then it was stop-start sailing and exit up the concert staircase just below dog beach and was thankful the tide had dropped enough to reveal a fringe of a beach on the water side of the rock amour. Got my moneys worth out of the $12.75 parking but Tsawwassen did even better with the VIP program (he 'forgot' to pay for parking)! Sun in the sun!

Good to hear that some got out to enjoy Sunday. I was up late Sat night and the forecast looked marginal to me so I didn't pack the Bus.

Got a bunch of things done at home though so I'll consider that I was the sacrifice to the wind gods and good fortune will come my way next session.

I logged a bit over 4 hours out by the tankers then down to the JSCA on the 2.5m parawing. The conditions were challenging with rather gusty winds but the bumps were decent for the first 3 hours.
