Waist high waves on the river outflow? Was it turbulent standing wave style as it often is, or smoother?

Yep. It was that crazy standing wave which I only witnessed this season. I didn't believe these claims (last season) that the new sandbars from last year created this standing wave ... only at super low tide.

Saturday was full-on classic Squamish. 5.0 windsurfing wave sail with a 20'ish fin was perfect. Filled in from the Oceanfront park all the way upwind to the wall.

Sunday was lighter. Very light at the Oceanfront park. Launched at the spit. 5.5 windsurfing wave sail with a 24cm fin was perfect in the river. The wind was fluky with the wind gauge dipping into the green and yellow zones. Very warm. Despite playing in the river the entire time, I was overheated in a 4.5mm suit. Barbecue next week!

Yeah, I've seen it since at least 2019 when the spring/early summer river flow maxes out during a Mid day very low tide and strong winds. One time there was a wave train for probably a full km south, but very tricky to ride well

Yesterday (Wed) perfectly hero conditions for the first 30 min before it got g-g-g-g-gusty. Decided to come back in to land my kite. As I was winding up my kite lines, the wind vane spin a 360 and my kite got backwinded, flew up and into the honey hole. Had to wait another hour before scoring steady SW 20-25.

Caught the early afternoon session of steady SW 20-25 from Nexen to the cliffs - perfect for 8m+surfboard.

Yes, surprisingly good in the hot sun yesterday. The cold water isn’t noticeable when it’s 29C :). That was me hovering around on a 4.0 windsurf foiling. Finally getting a lot of foil gybes, so now it’s FUN.

Took a chance on a cloudy day and it paid off. Caught the early shift (11am - 1:30pm) for relatively strong (but punchy) SSW 25+ ... lit on 8m+surfboard. Pretty clean waves with the southerly wind.

Epic SW 25-30 with smooth waves. Saw familiar faces down at Nexen. 8m+surfboard became a handful until I took the 5m from Alton Jr ... it was so much fun riding a cute little kite.
