Saturday westerly

I'm at the mid point of a cold so don't have the giddy up to go to Tofino.

However, it looks like a good local westerly on the way Saturday morning. From what I can tell/recall Acadia parking opens the gate at 7am. I'm not sure of the other parking lots. Also, I think I heard you can't pay for parking until 9am?? (This means you may have to come in off the water to pay).

Anyone know if they close the gates at the Spanish banks parking and if so when they open??

Hey John - We can only pay for parking at 9am ... not before.

Last spring at Tolmie I had to break up my dawn patrol session to avoid a parking fine. Pissed me off.

That's a good option. Acadia access to water even with windsurf gear is a bit more difficult now with added fences. No parking cost there but it does say 3 hr.

That lines up with the igetwind models.

7M kite and SB launching from Spanish Banks was the call. Alton and I and a number of wingers enjoyed circling to ride the swell outside of the dog park. The spot well marked with a menacing looking huge dead heading log.

Epic morning wave session in steady W25 for over 2 hrs. Mike (7m+surfboard), me (8m+surfboard) then Bill (7m+foil) beated from Spanish Banks to Acadia which was dominated by wingers. Saw one windsurfer (C36?).

Amazing shoulder high breaking waves between lower Acadia and Dog Beach (marked by the monster floating log) perfect for my favorite wave rides and bottom turns of the year.

For the afternoon shift the wind was a bit fickle. I got stuck out between the freighters then the wind shut down the first time then had to paddle in a few hundred meters when it later went to 0. Wind sure did come back though, sunny 22g30 afternoon was great.

I managed an upwind downwind run in a single reach.

Also at the end of the session there was a shin high point break on Locarno Beach that was surely surfable with a long board.
